Is it time to get a new driveway? What should I do, and who should I call? Here’s a simple guide to what you need to consider when pricing your new driveway. What type of shape is the driveway right now? Is the driveway new to the new house? Is the driveway 30 plus years old with a lot of cracks and a missing piece of asphalt? Is the driveway 5 to 10 years old but it has deep ruts?

Quality Sealcoating

Asphalt Sealing

Asphalt Sealing is a layer added on top of pavement to protect it from damage caused by UV rays, rain, fluids, wear and tear, snow and vehicles. If you have cracks of holes you will have to fix those first and then seal your driveway or parking lot!

Properly coating your driveway is essential to extending the life of your asphalt!

Public Safety Notice

Before you say yes to a driveway deal… read this.

Every spring and summer, a door-to-door paving scam makes the rounds across Alberta, and the RCMP have warned about it repeatedly. We’d rather you keep your money than lose it, even if the job doesn’t come to us. Here’s how the scam works and how to protect yourself.

How the scam usually works

  • Someone shows up uninvited at your door.
  • They claim to have “extra” or “leftover” asphalt from a nearby job and offer a steep discount.
  • They push you to decide on the spot because the deal is “only good today.”
  • They want cash or e-transfer up front, often with no written contract.
  • The company name may sound official, like a road or government department, with a vague or out-of-town address.
  • Once paid, they leave. The work is thin, poorly compacted, and starts failing within weeks. Then they can’t be reached.
  • In some cases they demand more money after starting, and get aggressive about it.

How to protect yourself

  • Never feel rushed. A real contractor is fine with you taking a day to think.
  • Get it in writing — scope, price, and a real business name and address — before any work or money.
  • Don’t pay in full up front, and be cautious with cash or e-transfer-only requests.
  • Ask for local references and check the company on the Better Business Bureau.
  • Verify they’re a real, reachable Alberta business — a phone number that’s answered, a physical address, online reviews.
  • If something feels off, it probably is. Walk away.
